Why This Role Exists

A quote is a promise, and dispatch is what keeps it. This role makes sure every load Dobie books actually moves — matched to the right carrier, tracked from pickup to delivery, and never a surprise to the customer waiting on the other end. It runs in ASCEND TMS, in two languages, for a U.S. company whose freight crosses the border every day.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Book and track loads in ASCEND TMS from pickup through delivery, keeping every status update accurate and on time.
  • Coordinate directly with carriers and drivers — confirming pickup windows, routes and delivery times, and catching problems before the customer has to ask.
  • Communicate with customers in English or Spanish, whichever the load needs, so nobody is left guessing where their vehicle or equipment is.
  • Work alongside sales to make sure what was quoted is what dispatch can actually deliver.
  • Handle exceptions — a delay, a reschedule, a carrier falling through — and get the load moving again instead of just logging that it stalled.
  • Keep ASCEND TMS clean: accurate carrier info, accurate statuses, accurate paperwork, so anyone on the team can read a load at a glance.

What You Bring

Required
  • Bilingual — fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish.
  • Hands-on experience dispatching in ASCEND TMS.
  • Comfortable coordinating multiple drivers, carriers and customers at the same time, by phone and by message.
Helps, but not required
  • Experience dispatching vehicle or heavy equipment transport specifically, not only general freight.
  • Familiarity with a second TMS or dispatch platform — the daily habit of running a TMS matters more than which one.
  • Prior experience on a U.S.-based logistics or freight team.

Your First 90 Days

1

First 30 days

Learn the board: the lanes Dobie runs, the carrier network, and how a load moves through ASCEND TMS from quote to delivery. Shadow live loads before you own any.

2

By day 60

You are running your own loads end to end — booking, tracking, carrier communication — with someone checking your work, not doing it for you.

3

By day 90

You own a full board independently: accurate statuses in ASCEND TMS, carriers and drivers who know you by name, and customers who get updates before they have to ask.

Why This Job Is Different

You talk to the owners

Manuel and Krystal built this company from dispatching and brokering themselves. When a load needs a decision, the people who can make it are close to the work.

Your work is the promise Dobie made

Sales quotes the load; dispatch is what makes the quote true. What you run in ASCEND TMS is the actual experience the customer has.

The cross-border book is real

U.S.–Mexico is home-field business here, not a line on a capabilities deck — and it is why bilingual dispatch matters on this team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this role remote or in-office?

The role is based in Bogotá, Colombia. Work setup is one of the things we confirm with you on the first call.

Do I need to already be an expert in ASCEND TMS?

You need hands-on experience dispatching in it — not necessarily years of it. If you have used it and know your way around booking and tracking a load, that counts.

How bilingual do I need to be?

This role is bilingual by requirement, not by preference: you will communicate with U.S. carriers and customers in English and with others in Spanish, often in the same day.

What does a typical load look like?

Dobie moves vehicles and heavy equipment across the U.S. and into Mexico, so the loads you dispatch are cars, trucks and machinery — not pallets.

What is the compensation?

Compensation is one of the things we cover with you directly and early — not something you find out at the offer stage.
