Why This Role Exists
Selling and running the people who sell are two different jobs. This role is the second one: someone whose work is the sales operation itself — consistent quoting discipline, a pipeline the founders can read at a glance, and salespeople who are measurably better six months from now than they are today. Dobie grew on a simple promise — answer fast, quote honestly, never leave a customer chasing an update — and that promise is kept or broken by whoever runs sales.
What You Will Be Doing
- Own the sales number: set targets with the founders, break them down by person and lane, and report progress without being asked.
- Run the daily rhythm — pipeline review, quote follow-up, and making sure no inbound request goes unanswered while the customer is still shopping.
- Coach the team on the calls that matter: qualifying a shipment, quoting a cross-border move honestly, and holding price without losing the load.
- Keep the CRM real. Inbound leads and quotes run through GoHighLevel, and you are the one who makes logging them a habit instead of a chore.
- Work shoulder to shoulder with dispatch so what sales promises is what operations can actually deliver.
- Onboard and develop the salespeople on your team, and give the founders a straight read when someone is not working out.
- Find the leaks: which lanes convert, which quotes die, which follow-ups never happened. Fix the process, not just the deal.

Five quick questions and your contact details — about three minutes on your phone. No resume required to start; you can send one right after if you want to.
What You Bring
- Previous experience leading or managing a sales or business team.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Highly organized, proactive, and results-driven.
- Experience in U.S. logistics, freight or transportation — a plus, not a requirement. Freight is learnable here; leading people is what we cannot teach you.
- English and Spanish. Dobie works both sides of the border daily, so bilingual managers have an advantage here.
- Comfort working inside a CRM every day (we use GoHighLevel — the habit matters more than the tool).
Your First 90 Days
First 30 days
Know the team, the lanes and the numbers. Sit on calls, listen to how quotes get built, and tell us plainly what you see working and what does not.
By day 60
The daily rhythm is yours: pipeline review, follow-up discipline and a weekly number the founders can read without asking you for it.
By day 90
The rhythm holds without you pushing it: response times you can show, a pipeline the founders can read, and a follow-up habit that does not depend on any one person. You can name who on the team is growing and what each of them needs next.
Why This Job Is Different
You talk to the owners
Manuel and Krystal built this company from dispatching and brokering. When you need a decision, the people who can make it are close to the work.
The cross-border book is real
U.S.–Mexico is home-field business here, not a line on a capabilities deck. Your team sells those lanes as normal business.
You will build the playbook
The sales process you design is the one everyone who comes after you uses.
Frequently Asked Questions
I have never worked in freight. Should I still apply?
Yes. Logistics experience is listed as a plus, not a requirement, and we mean it. What is required is that you have actually led a sales or business team before — freight is learnable here, leading people is not.
How big is the team I would be managing?
The team size and structure are confirmed with you on the first call, along with who you report to and how the sales targets are set today.
Is this a player-coach role or pure management?
The mission the founders wrote is leading the team, driving performance, developing people and hitting the sales goals. How much you personally sell alongside the team is one of the things we agree on before you start.
What is the compensation?
Compensation is one of the things we cover with you directly and early — not something you find out at the offer stage.
Do I need to be in the Rio Grande Valley?
Dobie is based in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. The work location and setup are covered on the first call — it is one of the first things we go over so nobody wastes a week.
