What Is an RGN Trailer?
An RGN, or Removable Gooseneck trailer, allows heavy equipment to be driven or loaded onto the deck from ground level.
The gooseneck — the front section that connects to the truck — detaches completely, letting the deck drop to form a ramp at ground level. Tracked excavators, dozers and loaders walk on under their own power; winches pull on machines that cannot.
RGNs carry the heaviest routine equipment loads and extend with additional axles as weight climbs past standard limits. When a machine is heavy, tracked, or unable to climb ramps, the RGN is usually the answer — and when it is not needed, a lowboy or step deck does the job for less.
